Arts Coalition of Delta Country founder Richard Weldon moved to Delta in 1967 to teach music at Delta High School. Through that experience and his time in the Valley Symphony Orchestra he discovered that our local auditorium would not fit our local music needs. It was then that he envisioned the creation of the largest performing arts center in Western Colorado. ​ To make this vision a reality Richard formed a group of like minded people called the Arts Coalition of Delta County in an effort to promote the arts in Delta County including Art Music Theater and Dance etc. ​ Since it's creation the Arts Coalition has grown quickly from a small group of instrumentalists to include multimedia art shows and a theatrical group. The Arts Coalition has also partnered with the Technical College of the Rockies which has pledge land to the Arts Coalition for the building of the performing arts center. Each year brings us closer to achieving Richard's dream. We invite you to share in that dream too!
